Cocktail Base

Method

Prepare Cocktail Base

1

Mix and chill

Add Empress Indigo Gin (2 oz), elderflower liqueur (1/2 oz), fresh lime juice (1/2 oz) and agave syrup (1/2 tsp) to a cocktail shaker.

2

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and the mixture is well-chilled and slightly diluted.

Assemble Spritz

3

Strain the chilled mixture into a chilled wine glass or large coupe filled halfway with fresh ice (if using a wine glass) to preserve the spritz style. Use a fine strainer if you prefer no micro-ice in the glass.

4

Top the cocktail with 2.5 oz of dry sparkling wine, poured gently to maintain effervescence. Give the glass one very gentle stir (1–2 rotations) to integrate the sparkling wine without flattening it.

Garnish & Serve

5

Finish with a lime wheel or twist on the rim and, if desired, float an edible flower or a small sprig of thyme for aroma and visual contrast with the indigo color.

6

Serve immediately while sparkling wine is bubbly. Optional: provide a small straw for sipping or encourage guests to sniff the aromatics before the first sip.
