Base Margarita Mix (makes 1 margarita; multiply quantities by 3 for a 3-cocktail flight)

Method

Prep & Rims

1

Prepare rimming stations

For each of the three glasses set a small shallow dish with your chosen rim (salt, tajín, sugar mix, etc.). Rub the rim of each glass with a lime wedge, then dip and twist the glass into the rim mixture to coat evenly. Set glasses aside to dry slightly.

2

If using fresh fruit purées or juices, prepare them now: blend and strain strawberries and mango for smooth purée; strain any fibrous pulp for a clean texture. Keep purées refrigerated until ready.

3

Slice jalapeño thinly if making a spicy variation. Prepare small bowls with garnishes (lime wedges, fruit, herb sprigs).

Make Base Margarita (repeat/scale for each of the 3 flavors)

4

Measure base mix

Into a cocktail shaker add 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 0.75 oz triple sec, and 0.5 oz simple syrup (or agave).

5

Add ice and shake

Add about 1 cup of ice to the shaker, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly frothy.

6

Prepare for flavoring

Strain the base margarita into a small pitcher or directly into the shaker you will use for each flavored cocktail. If making three at once, multiply quantities and shake in batches (or make a small pitcher of base mix and split into three flavor additions).

Flavoring & Final Assembly (one direction block per flavor choice)

7

Mango Margarita (example)

To the strained base (approximate total in shaker: tequila, lime, triple sec, syrup), add 1 oz fresh mango purée. Add a few ice cubes, shake quickly 8–10 seconds to incorporate mango, then double-strain into the prepared rimmed glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a small mango wedge and lime wheel.

8

Strawberry Margarita (example)

To the base, add 1 oz strawberry purée. Add ice, shake 8–10 seconds, then double-strain into the rimmed glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a strawberry slice and a small sprig of mint.

9

Spicy Jalapeño Margarita (example)

Muddle 2 thin jalapeño slices in the shaker before adding the base mix (or simply add 0.5 oz jalapeño syrup plus a muddled slice). Add the base mix and ice, shake 8–10 seconds. Double-strain into the rimmed glass over fresh ice to remove seeds. Garnish with a jalapeño slice and lime wedge.

10

Notes for other flavors: For citrus-forward options (blood orange or pineapple) add 1 oz juice and shake; for blue curaçao add 0.5 oz for color and a touch of orange-flavor — reduce triple sec by 0.25 oz if desired. For cucumber, add 1 oz cucumber juice and a sprig of cilantro or basil as garnish.

Service & Finishing Touches

11

Arrange the three different flavored margaritas on a small tray or board. Label each glass (small tag or slate) with the flavor and rim so guests know their options.

12

Provide small tasting spoons or cocktail straws. Serve immediately while chilled.

13

If preparing ahead, make base mix up to 1 hour in advance and keep chilled. Do not pre-add fresh fruit purées or ice until ready to serve to preserve brightness and texture.
