Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare glass

If using a salted rim, run a lime wedge around the glass lip and dip the rim into a shallow plate with smoked sea salt (mix salt and smoked paprika if desired). Fill the glass with 1 cup of fresh ice and set aside.

2

Muddle herb

In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh herb sprig (cilantro or basil) and 0.5 tbs agave syrup. Gently muddle 6–8 times to release the herb oils without shredding the leaves.

3

Build and shake

Add 2 oz Bendita Vida blanco, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz pear liqueur (or pear purée + 0.5 tbs extra agave if using purée), 2 dashes orange bitters, and the ice (6 cubes) to the shaker. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled (shaker should frost).

4

Double strain and serve

Double strain the cocktail into the prepared glass over the fresh ice to remove herb bits and small ice shards. If you prefer a neat serve, double strain into a chilled coupe without ice.

5

Garnish and finish

Express the oils of a lime wheel or gently slap a thin pear slice and place it on the drink. If desired, finish with a light spritz of citrus (squeeze over) or a single additional small herb sprig on top. Serve immediately.

Optional Smoke Finish

6

For a smoky accent, briefly capture smoke in the serving glass with a handheld smoker before pouring, or flame a small rosemary sprig and cup the glass to trap smoke for 5–8 seconds, then pour the cocktail in and serve. Use sparingly to preserve Bendita Vida's bright, herbaceous profile.
