Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prepare glass (optional)

If you prefer a salted or Tajín rim, run a lime wedge around the edge of a rocks or coupe glass and dip the rim into a small plate of coarse salt or Tajín. Set the glass aside.

  2. 2

    Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker add 2 oz Don Julio Blanco Tequila, 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice, and 0.5 oz agave nectar.

  3. 3

    Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 6 oz by volume). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.

  4. 4

    Strain and serve

Fill the prepared serving glass with fresh ice (about 4 oz). Double-strain the cocktail into the glass to remove small shards of ice and any pulp.

  5. 5

    Garnish and finish

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.

Notes

  1. 6

If the agave nectar is very thick, stir 0.5 tsp simple syrup in with the agave to help it integrate, or warm the agave briefly before measuring. Adjust sweetness to taste — add up to 0.75 oz agave for a sweeter drink.
