Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare glass (optional salt rim)

If you want a salted rim, run a lime wedge around the outer edge of a rocks or coupe glass, then dip the rim into a small plate of coarse salt to coat. Set the glass aside.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz 1800 Reposado tequila, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.75 oz orange liqueur, 0.25 oz agave syrup, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup), secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.

4

Strain

Double-strain (using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer if available) into the prepared glass over fresh ice (for a rocks presentation) or neat into a chilled coupe (for a straighter, up presentation).

Garnish / Finish

5

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Optionally express an orange twist over the drink to release oils and drop it in. Serve immediately.
