Old Fashioned Cocktail

Optional (to taste / for sweeter variant)

Method

Old Fashioned Cocktail

1

Prepare glass

Place a rocks glass in front of you. If you prefer the drink slightly chilled, optionally chill the glass in the freezer for a few minutes beforehand.

2

Add sugar and bitters

Add 0.25 oz simple syrup to the rocks glass. Add 2 dashes Regan's orange bitters and 2 dashes Angostura bitters into the syrup.

3

Stir with bourbon

Pour 2 oz Buffalo Trace bourbon into the glass. Add one large ice cube (or several large cubes) and gently stir with a bar spoon for about 20-30 seconds until the drink is well chilled and slightly diluted.

4

Express and garnish orange peel

Cut a 1-inch wide strip of orange peel, removing as much pith as possible. Hold the peel over the glass skin-side down and give it a firm twist to express the oils over the drink, then rub the peel around the rim and drop it into the glass as a garnish. Optionally add a Luxardo cherry on a pick.

5

Adjust sweetness

Taste and, if you prefer it sweeter, add up to an additional 0.25 oz simple syrup and stir once more to incorporate.

6

Serve immediately. Enjoy responsibly.
