Milk

For warmed or flavored milk (optional)

Method

Milk

1

Plain cold milk

Stir the whole milk in its container or pour into a clean pitcher. If using powdered milk for extra creaminess, whisk the powdered milk into the measured whole milk until fully dissolved. Add a pinch of salt if desired to enhance flavor. Serve chilled or keep refrigerated at 4°C (39°F).

2

Warmed or flavored milk (stovetop)

Pour the measured whole milk into a small saucepan. If using powdered milk, whisk it into the milk now. Heat over low to medium-low heat, stirring frequently to prevent scorching, until the milk reaches 55–65°C (130–150°F) and small steam wisps appear—do not boil. Remove from heat. Stir in honey or sugar and vanilla extract if using, then sprinkle cinnamon on top. Serve immediately.

3

Microwave warming method

Pour the measured milk into a microwave-safe cup or bowl. If using powdered milk, whisk it into the milk. Microwave on medium (50–70% power) in 30–45 second intervals, stirring between intervals, until warm but not boiling (about 1 to 2 minutes total depending on microwave). Add optional sweetener or vanilla, stir, and serve.

4

Storage and safety

Keep unopened milk refrigerated and use by the printed date. Once opened, keep refrigerated and use within 5–7 days. Do not let milk sit at room temperature for more than 2 hours. If milk develops an off smell, sour taste, or curdled appearance, discard.
