Verify you have each of the six beers on tap: Hardywood Park Pilsner, Settle Down Easy No. 1 Kölsch, Right Proper Raised by Wolves, Three Notch’d Future IPA, Port City Optimal Wit, and Devils Backbone Vienna Lager. Plan for 6-ounce pours of each to create a tasting flight.

Confirm beers and volumes

Ensure all kegs are properly chilled. Ideal serving temperatures: Pilsner/Kölsch/Vienna Lager ~38–45°F (3–7°C); Wit and amber/ale/IPA slightly warmer if preferred ~40–50°F (4–10°C). Adjust taps or cooler zones so each beer is served near its optimal range.

Check keg/chill temps

Chill six 6-ounce tasting glasses in the refrigerator or on ice for at least 15 minutes. Rinse briefly with cold water just before pouring to remove dust and improve head formation.

Prepare glassware

Pour each beer into its assigned chilled glass as follows: hold the glass at a 45° angle, open the tap and pour gently until the glass is about two-thirds full, then tilt upright and finish to create a 1/2"–1" head (adjust depending on style):

- Settle Down Easy No. 1 Kölsch — 6 oz
- Right Proper Raised by Wolves — 6 oz
- Three Notch’d Future IPA — 6 oz

Place the poured glasses on a flight tray or serving board left-to-right in the order above (or arrange by color/light-to-dark) and label if necessary.

Pour the flights

Quickly check foam and temperature. If a beer is over-foamed, let it settle and skim excess foam before serving. If any beer is too warm, move it back to chill briefly and swap with a colder keg if available.

Temperature & foam check

Serve the flight on a paddle or tray with napkins. Offer a brief description of each beer (style, ABV if known, and tasting notes) so guests know what they are sampling.

Present the flight

Offer small water pitcher and six cups or glasses of water for rinsing between samples. Provide unsalted crackers or plain bread to neutralize the palate between tastings if guests desire.

Provide palate cleansers

Recommend guests taste from lightest/mildest to heaviest/hoppier: start with the Pilsner, then Kölsch, Vienna Lager, Wit, amber/ale, finish with the IPA — or arrange by color/aroma preference. Encourage small sips, letting beer coat the palate, and note aromas and finish.

Tasting order suggestion

If guests request full pours, refill from the appropriate tap. After service, rinse glasses immediately, clean and sanitize per bar guidelines, and return remaining kegs to proper storage temperatures.
