Elderflower Prosecco Cocktail
Method
Elderflower Prosecco Cocktail
Muddle mint and combine
In a cocktail shaker, place 6 of the fresh mint leaves, the fresh lime juice (0.5 tbs) and the elderflower liqueur (1 tbs). Add the optional simple syrup (0.5 tsp) only if you prefer a sweeter drink. Gently muddle the mint with a wooden muddler or the back of a spoon to release oils—do 6–8 light presses. Do not pulverize the mint to avoid bitterness.
Shake with ice
Add 4 ice cubes to the shaker. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds to chill and lightly dilute the mixture.
Prepare glass
Strain the muddled mixture into a chilled champagne flute or coupe, using a fine strainer if you want minimal leaf bits. Discard the used mint.
Garnish and serve
Give the cocktail a very gentle stir (one slow turn) to marry flavors. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and a fresh mint sprig tucked into the drink for aroma. Serve immediately while cold and effervescent.
