Method

Prepare Glass

1

Chill and fill

Choose a highball glass (12–14 oz). Fill it with cracked ice to the top to chill while you assemble ingredients.

Mix Spirit & Sweetener

2

Combine base flavors

In a mixing glass or small shaker, add the bourbon, fresh lime juice, maple syrup, and Angostura bitters. Add a few ice cubes, then stir briskly for 10–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted. Do not shake vigorously — you want integration, not froth.

Assemble Soda

3

Build the drink

Discard or top up the cracked ice in the chilled highball. Strain the stirred spirit mixture over the ice. Pour the ginger beer slowly down the side of the glass (approximately 8 oz), then top with 2 oz club soda to brighten and lengthen the drink. Give the glass one gentle stir with a bar spoon to combine without losing carbonation.

Garnish & Serve

4

Slap the mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and place it in the glass next to a lime wheel or wedge. Optionally express a lime wedge over the drink before dropping it in for extra zest. Serve immediately with a straw or cocktail stirrer.
