Preparation

  1. 1

    Chill glass

If possible, place a large wine glass or Collins glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare ingredients to ensure the finished spritz is nicely chilled.

  2. 2

    Add base and juice

Remove the glass from the freezer (or discard ice water) and fill it about two-thirds full with fresh ice (roughly 1 cup). Pour 2 oz Bella Aperitif and 1 oz fresh orange juice over the ice.

  3. 3

    Top with sparkling

Slowly add 3 oz Oddbird Sparkling to the glass. Pour gently over the back of a spoon or down the side of the glass to preserve effervescence.

  4. 4

    Finish with soda

Add 1 oz soda water to lighten and lengthen the cocktail. Stir gently once with a bar spoon (1–2 slow rotations) to combine without flattening the bubbles.

  5. 5

    Garnish and serve

Garnish with an orange slice or a thin orange twist clipped to the rim. Optionally slap a mint sprig between your palms to release aromatics and tuck it beside the orange. Serve immediately.
