Cocktail

Optional (for simple syrup)

Method

Prepare Simple Syrup (if needed)

  1. 1

    Make syrup

Combine 0.5 cups water and 0.5 cups granulated sugar in a small saucepan. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Refrigerate if not using immediately.

Build Cocktail

  1. 2

    Shake base

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 1.5 oz Empress gin, 0.5 oz Crème de Violette, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup. Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled.

  2. 3

    Strain

Strain the shaken mixture into a chilled coupe or a flute over one or two large ice cubes (for a short option use coupe without ice; for a long option use a highball with ice).

  3. 4

    Top with Prosecco

Gently top the drink with 3 oz chilled Strawberry Prosecco. Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve effervescence and allow a gentle layering of the violet-toned base with the pink Prosecco.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 5

Garnish with a halved hulled strawberry placed on the rim or floated on top, and a lemon wheel on the rim. Serve immediately.
