1. Prepare the Equipment
Use a cezve (small pot) specifically designed for making Turkish coffee.
2. Combine Ingredients
In the cezve, combine the finely ground Turkish coffee, cold water, and sugar. If using cardamom, add it now.
3. Mix Well
Stir the mixture gently to dissolve the coffee and sugar before heating.
4. Heat the Coffee
Place the cezve over low heat. Do not stir once it starts heating.
5. Watch for Froth
As the coffee heats, watch for froth to form at the top. When it begins to froth, remove it from the heat.
6. Serve
Pour the coffee into a small cup, allowing the grounds to settle at the bottom. Enjoy your Turkish coffee!
