Method

Preparing Pickled Vegetables

1

Make the Pickling Solution

In a mixing bowl, combine the white vinegar, sugar, and salt. Stir until the sugar and salt are completely dissolved.

2

Pickle the Vegetables

Add the julienned carrots and daikon radish to the pickling solution. Mix well and let sit for at least 1 hour to pickle.

Cooking the Pork Belly

3

Prepare the Pork Belly

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Season the pork belly with salt and pepper on both sides.

4

Cook the Pork Belly

Place the pork belly on a baking tray and roast in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and the meat is cooked through. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Assembling the Bánh Mì

5

Prepare the Baguette

Slice the baguette lengthwise without cutting all the way through, creating a pocket.

6

Spread the Pâté

Spread a generous layer of liver pâté on the inside of each baguette.

7

Add the Pork Belly

Layer the sliced pork belly into each baguette pocket.

8

Top with Pickled Vegetables

Add a generous amount of the pickled carrots and daikon radish on top of the pork belly.

9

Add Fresh Ingredients

Top with chopped cilantro and slices of jalapeño.

10

Add Condiments

Drizzle with mayonnaise, soy sauce, and sriracha to taste.

11

Serve

Close the baguette and serve immediately, or wrap it up for later.
