Method

Cake Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2

Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3

Mix Wet Ingredients

Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes. Stir in the boiling water until well combined.

4

Bake the Cake

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

5

Cool and Prepare Pudding

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks. Prepare chocolate pudding according to package instructions.

6

Assemble the Cake

Once cooled, place one layer of cake on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of chocolate pudding on top, then place the second layer of cake on top of the pudding. Frost the top and sides with chocolate frosting if desired.

7

Serve

Slice and serve the Choc’late Lovin’ Spoon Cake. Enjoy!
