Preparation
- 1
Combine Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, and unsalted butter. If using, add the vanilla extract for extra flavor.
- 2
Cook the Mixture
Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Cook until the mixture thickens and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan, about 10 to 15 minutes.

Let it Cool
Once the mixture is thickened, remove it from the heat and let it cool for about 15 minutes until it is manageable to handle.

Shape the Brigadeiros
Grease your hands lightly with butter to prevent sticking. Take small portions of the cooled mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- 5
Coat with Sprinkles
Roll each brigadeiro ball in the chocolate sprinkles until fully coated. Place them on a plate.
