Steak and Marinade
Method
Cooking Instructions
Marinate the Steak
In a bowl, mix together olive oil, minced garlic, fresh rosemary, soy sauce, red wine, salt, and black pepper. Place the New York strip steaks in a resealable bag or dish, pour the marinade over the steaks, and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight.
Sear the Steak
Preheat a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Remove the steaks from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and pat them dry with paper towels. Sear the steaks for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
Braised Cooking
After searing, pour the reserved marinade and beef broth into the skillet. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it braise for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the steaks are tender.
Rest and Serve
Once done, remove the steaks from the braising liquid and let them rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with the braising liquid drizzled over the top.
