Directions

1

Prepare the Tempeh

Slice the tempeh into thin strips, about 1/8 inch thick.

2

Make the Marinade

In a bowl, combine liquid smoke, soy sauce, maple syrup, smoked paprika, olive oil, and black pepper. Mix well.

3

Marinate the Tempeh

Place the tempeh strips in the marinade and let them soak for at least 30 minutes, preferably in the refrigerator.

4

Cook the Tempeh

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated tempeh strips in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until crispy and golden brown.

5

Serve

Remove from skillet and let cool slightly. Serve as a bacon alternative in sandwiches, salads, or as a snack.
