For the Chips

Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 triangles to create chips.

Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it's hot but not smoking.

Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla triangles to the hot oil in batches, frying them for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.

Drain and Season

Remove the chips from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain. Immediately sprinkle with salt while still warm.

For the Mild Salsa

Chop Ingredients

Finely chop the tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.

Mix Salsa

In a bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Mix well.

Taste and Adjust

Taste the salsa and adjust seasoning if needed. Set aside to let the flavors meld for at least 15 minutes.

For the Spicy Salsa

Finely chop the tomatoes, onion, habanero, and cilantro.

Mix Salsa

In a bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, onion, habanero, cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Mix well.

Taste and Adjust

Taste the salsa and adjust seasoning if needed. Set aside to let the flavors meld for at least 15 minutes.
