Method
Margarita Mix
Prepare strawberries
Place the hulled and quartered strawberries in a blender. If using frozen strawberries, use 1 1/4 cups and reduce blending ice to 2 cups.
Add citrus and sweetener
Add the fresh lime juice and agave nectar (or simple syrup) to the blender with the strawberries. This balances sweetness and acidity; adjust agave to taste if you prefer sweeter or tarter cocktails.
Add spirits and ice
Pour in the orange liqueur and tequila. Add 3 cups of ice for a slushy texture (reduce to 2 cups for a less frozen drink).
Blend
Secure the lid and blend on high until smooth and slushy, about 30–60 seconds depending on blender strength. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed, then pulse again to ensure even texture. Taste and adjust: add up to 2 tablespoons agave or 1–2 tablespoons more lime juice if desired.
Garnish & Glass Prep
Prepare glass rims
Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each serving glass to moisten. Pour the coarse salt or tart sugar onto a small plate and dip the moistened rims into it to coat evenly. Set glasses aside.
