Method
Shake Base
Combine base ingredients
Add 1.5 cups whole milk, 2 cups chocolate ice cream, 3 tbsp chocolate syrup, 1 tbsp granulated sugar, 0.5 tsp vanilla extract, and 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder to a blender.
Blend until smooth
Secure the lid and blend on medium-high for 30–45 seconds until the mixture is smooth and homogenous. Scrape down the sides with a spatula if needed and blend an additional 10–15 seconds.
Add-ins & Texture
Adjust thickness
Add 4 ice cubes to the blender and pulse 3–4 times to chill and thicken the shake. If you prefer a thicker shake, add 1 more ice cube or 2 more tablespoons of ice cream; for thinner, add 2–3 tbsp milk.
Add chocolate chips
Add 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips and pulse once or twice so they remain slightly chunky for texture. Do not over-blend if you want chips to remain visible.
Serve & Garnish
Prepare glass
Drizzle 1 tbsp extra chocolate syrup inside the serving glass, rotating the glass to create streaks.
Pour and top
Pour the shake into the prepared glass. Top with 1/2 cup whipped cream and sprinkle 1 tbsp chocolate shavings or sprinkles over the cream.
Final touch
If desired, garnish with a straw and a few extra mini chocolate chips on top. Serve immediately.
