Icing
Method
Preparation
- 1
Make the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy. Stir in melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually add flour until combined. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- 2
Prepare the Filling
In a bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
- 3
Roll and Fill
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). After the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 15x10 inches). Spread softened butter over the dough, then evenly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- 4
Bake the Cinnamon Rolls
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and cover with a towel. Let them rise for another 30 minutes. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- 5
Make the Icing
While the rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
- 6
Frost and Serve
Once the rolls are done baking, let them cool for a few minutes before spreading the icing on top. Serve warm.
