Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer (or fill with ice and water) for at least 5 minutes to chill while you mix the cocktail.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker add vanilla vodka (2 oz), neutral vodka (0.5 oz), white crème de cacao (0.5 oz), heavy cream (1 oz), half-and-half (1 oz), simple syrup (0.5 oz), vanilla extract (0.25 tsp), fresh lemon juice (0.25 oz), and egg white if using (0.5 oz).

3

Dry shake (if using egg white)

If you included the egg white, seal the shaker and shake vigorously without ice for 15 seconds to emulsify and build texture.

4

Wet shake

Add the ice (about 1 cup) to the shaker. Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and the exterior becomes frosty.

5

Double strain

Remove the chilled glass from the freezer. Double strain the cocktail into the glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to catch ice shards and any small solids for a silky texture.

Garnish

6

Dust the surface of the cocktail with the scraped seeds from 1/2 tsp vanilla bean or a light sprinkle of vanilla sugar to enhance aroma. Grate a small amount (about 1 tsp) of white chocolate over the top for a delicate visual and flavor accent.

7

Express a lemon twist over the drink to release oils, then drop it in or rest it on the rim. Serve immediately.
