Method

Drink

  1. 1

    Chill and prepare glass

If you prefer your Diet Coke extra cold, place the can in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. Alternatively, chill the glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes. Remove chilled can and glass just before serving.

  2. 2

    Add ice

Place 3–6 ice cubes into your highball glass or tumbler depending on preferred dilution and glass size. Adjust number of ice cubes to taste.

  3. 3

    Open and pour

Hold the chilled can upright and carefully open the tab. Pour the Diet Coke slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and reduce foaming. Fill to about 3/4–1 inch (1–2 cm) below the rim.

  4. 4

    Garnish (optional)

Squeeze the lime wedge lightly over the drink to release a few drops of juice, then drop the wedge into the glass if you like a citrus note. Optionally slap the mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and rest it on top of the drink as garnish.

  5. 5

Insert a reusable straw if desired, serve immediately, and enjoy your refreshing, no-calorie Diet Coke.

Cleanup

  1. 6

Discard remaining ice or pour out any leftover soda into a compost-safe or sink-appropriate location. Rinse the glass and straw with warm water and wash as usual.
