Method

Chips

1

Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 wedges to create triangle-shaped chips.

2

Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

3

Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla wedges in batches to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch.

4

Drain the Chips

Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips from the oil and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

Salsa

5

Prepare the Ingredients

Chop the tomatoes, onion, and jalapeño pepper (remove seeds for less heat).

6

Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and fresh cilantro.

7

Season the Salsa

Squeeze the juice of the lime over the mixture, add salt, and stir well to combine. Adjust seasoning to taste.

8

Chill and Serve

Let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving with the tortilla chips.
