Base

Kopp's Classic Topping (choose if selected)

Turtle Topping (choose if selected)

Method

Base

  1. 1

    Scoop ice cream

Let the Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream sit at room temperature for 1–2 minutes to slightly soften for easier scooping. Place four generous scoops in the center of the sundae glass or arranged in a circle in the large shared bowl.

Kopp's Classic Topping (if chosen)

  1. 2

    Warm fudge (optional)

If your hot fudge is chilled and thick, microwave 1/2 cup in a microwave-safe bowl for 10–15 seconds until pourable but not hot.

  2. 3

Drizzle the warm hot fudge evenly over the four scoops so it cascades down the sides.

  3. 4

Top with 3/4 cup whipped cream, dolloping or piping into three or four mounds across the sundae.

  4. 5

Sprinkle 1/4 cup chopped roasted peanuts evenly over the whipped cream and fudge.

  5. 6

Finish each scoop or each whipped-cream mound with a maraschino cherry.

Turtle Topping (if chosen)

  1. 7

    Warm sauces

Gently warm 1/2 cup caramel sauce and 1/4 cup hot fudge in separate microwave-safe bowls for 8–12 seconds each so they are pourable but not hot.

  2. 8

Drizzle the warm caramel first across the scoops, then add a smaller drizzle of hot fudge for contrast.

  3. 9

Scatter 1/4 cup toasted chopped pecans across the top so the nuts stick to the warm caramel and fudge.

  4. 10

Add 1/2 cup whipped cream in two or three dollops, and place maraschino cherries on top of dollops or around the edge.

Strawberry Topping (if chosen)

  1. 11

    Prepare compote if needed

If using store-bought compote, warm 3/4 cup briefly (8–10 seconds) so it’s spoonable. To make quick compote: combine 1 cup hulled sliced strawberries, 2 tbsp sugar, and 1 tbsp lemon juice in a small saucepan over medium heat; simmer 6–8 minutes until slightly thickened; let cool slightly.

  2. 12

Spoon the warm or room-temperature strawberry compote generously over the four scoops so it pools slightly between them.

  3. 13

Scatter 1 cup fresh sliced strawberries over the compote for texture and freshness.

  4. 14

Add 1/2 cup whipped cream in dollops and, if using, sprinkle 2 tbsp (about 1/8 cup) toasted almond slices over the whipped cream for crunch.

  5. 15

Garnish with maraschino cherries if desired.

Serving & Finish

  1. 16

Serve immediately with long-handled spoons so four people can share. If assembling for later, keep sauces separate and add within 5–10 minutes of serving to preserve ice cream texture.

  2. 17

Provide napkins and small plates for drips; enjoy.
