Main Ingredients

Rose Petal Shatta

Method

Preparation of Wild Mexican Prawns

  1. 1

    Clean the Prawns

Rinse the wild Mexican prawns under cold water. Remove the shells and devein them if necessary.

  2. 2

    Season the Prawns

In a bowl, toss the cleaned prawns with a pinch of salt and a drizzle of olive oil. Let them marinate for about 15 minutes.

Making the Rose Petal Shatta

  1. 3

    Prepare the Ingredients

Wash the fresh rose petals thoroughly and set them aside. Remove the stems from the red chili peppers and garlic cloves.

  2. 4

    Blend the Shatta

In a blender, combine the rose petals, red chili peppers, garlic cloves, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt. Blend until smooth and adjust seasoning to taste.

Cooking and Serving

  1. 5

    Cook the Prawns

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated prawns, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are pink and opaque.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Pita Bread

While the prawns are cooking, place the pita bread in an oven or on a grill to heat for about 5 minutes until they are soft and warm.

  3. 7

    Serve

On a serving plate, arrange the cooked prawns with the cherry tomatoes. Serve warm with the rose petal shatta drizzled on top, and the hearth-baked pita on the side.
