Limonata Base

Hibiscus Fizz

Method

Limonata Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Lemon Syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine the fresh lemon juice and sugar. Stir over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. This should take about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Water and Rosemary

Once the sugar has dissolved, add 4 cups of water and the rosemary sprigs to the saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes to infuse the flavors.

  3. 3

    Strain and Cool

After simmering, remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine sieve into a large pitcher. Discard the rosemary and let the limonata cool to room temperature. Once cooled, add ice cubes to chill.

Hibiscus Fizz Preparation

  1. 4

    Brew Hibiscus Tea

In a separate saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, add the dried hibiscus flowers and remove from heat. Let it steep for about 10 minutes.

  2. 5

    Strain and Sweeten

Strain the hibiscus tea through a fine sieve into a bowl or another container. Stir in honey or agave syrup until dissolved. Let it cool to room temperature.

  3. 6

    Combine and Serve

In serving glasses, fill halfway with the limonata base, then add the cooled hibiscus tea. Top with sparkling water and a splash of fresh lime juice. Garnish with additional rosemary or lime wedges if desired.
