Method
Preparation
- 1
Chill glass
Place a large wine glass or a large stemmed glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the ingredients to ensure the cocktail stays bright and bubbly.
- 2
Build the base
Add fresh ice to a cocktail shaker until about half full (or use a mixing glass). Pour in 1.5 oz New Amsterdam Gin, 0.5 oz elderflower liqueur, 0.5 oz Aperol, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz ginger syrup.
- 3
Shake
Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds to chill and lightly dilute the mixture. This also helps properly integrate the syrup and citrus.
Assemble
- 4
Strain
Discard ice water from the chilled glass (if used). Fine-strain the shaken mixture into the chilled wine glass over fresh ice. Use a julep or large cube if preferred.
- 5
Top with bubbles
Gently top with 2.5 oz chilled Prosecco (or dry sparkling wine). Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and create a layered look.
- 6
- 7
Serve immediately with a cocktail stirrer or straw so the guest can gently mix to combine the bubbles with the base when ready.
