1

Chill glass

Place an old-fashioned glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill it.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker add 2 oz añejo tequila, 0.5 oz reposado tequila (optional), 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz agave syrup, 0.25 oz orange liqueur, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker about two-thirds with ice. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and the outside is frosted.

4

Prepare serving glass

Remove the chilled glass from the freezer or discard ice water. Add a large ice cube or ice sphere to the glass.

5

Strain and garnish

Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared old-fashioned glass over the large ice cube. Express a lime peel over the drink or place a lime wheel on the rim as garnish.

6

Serve

Serve immediately. Sip slowly to appreciate the aged tequila's nuances balanced by citrus, gentle sweetness, and bitters.
