Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

2

Measure and combine

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz blanco tequila, 1/2 oz dry vermouth, 1/2 oz fresh lime juice, 1/4 oz simple syrup, 1/4 oz orange curaçao and 1 dash Angostura bitters.

3

Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.

4

Prepare glass

If you chilled the glass with ice water, dump out the ice water now. If using a refrigerated glass, remove it from the freezer.

5

Strain

Double-strain the cocktail through a Hawthorne strainer and fine mesh strainer (or just a fine strainer) into the chilled coupe or martini glass to remove small ice chips and any pulp from the lime.

Garnish & Serve

6

Express a lime twist over the drink by holding the twist skin-side down above the cocktail and giving it a quick twist to release oils, then rub it around the rim and drop it into the glass. Alternatively, float a lime wheel on the surface.

7

Serve immediately. Estimated yield is one cocktail (serves 1).
