Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Sear the Chicken Livers

In a large skillet, melt half of the unsalted butter over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the chicken livers and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and let cool.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Onions and Garlic

In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Chop and Combine

Once the chicken livers have cooled, chop them finely. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped chicken livers, sautéed onions and garlic, remaining unsalted butter, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix well until combined.

Serving

  1. 4

    Toast the Bread

In a separate skillet, melt the additional butter over medium heat. Add the slices of bread and toast on each side until golden brown and crispy.

  2. 5

    Serve Chopped Chicken Liver

Spread the chopped chicken liver mixture over the toasted bread slices. Garnish with additional parsley if desired. Serve immediately.
