Strudel Dough Preparation

Make the Dough
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. In a separate bowl, mix water, egg, and olive oil. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the flour, mixing until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, then wrap in plastic wrap and let rest for 30 minutes.

Bake the Flan
Place the flan mold in a larger baking dish filled with hot water (water bath). Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes or until set. Let cool and refrigerate before serving.
Parsnip Ice Cream Preparation

Chill and Churn
Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, then churn in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions. Freeze until firm.
Strudel Assembly and Baking

Assemble the Strudel
Roll out the rested dough on a floured surface until very thin. Spread the pear filling evenly over the dough, then roll it up tightly, tucking in the edges.

Bake the Strudel
Place the rolled strudel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with melted butter and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
