Preparation
- 1
Toast the Hazelnuts
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the hazelnuts on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until they're golden brown and fragrant. Let them cool slightly, then chop coarsely.
- 2
Prepare the Fennel
Trim the fennel bulb and slice it thinly. You can use a mandoline for even slices if you have one.
- 3
Segment the Citrus
Using a sharp knife, cut the top and bottom off the orange and lemon. Stand the fruit upright and slice off the peel and white pith. Segment the fruit by cutting between the membranes to release the segments.
Assembly
- 4
Combine Ingredients
On a serving platter, spread the chèvre as a base. Top with the sliced fennel, citrus segments, and toasted hazelnuts.
- 5
Add Fig Jam
Drizzle fig jam over the top of the assembled ingredients. You can also serve the fig jam on the side for guests to add to their liking.
