Cocktail

Method

Garnish & Syrup

1

Make pink peppercorn simple syrup

In a small saucepan combine 0.25 cup water, 0.25 cup granulated sugar, and 1 tsp whole pink peppercorns. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Simmer for 2 minutes to infuse. Remove from heat, cover, and steep for 15 minutes. Strain out peppercorns and cool. Yield ~3.5 oz syrup; measure 0.5 oz for the cocktail and refrigerate the rest up to 2 weeks.

2

Prepare garnishes: thread 2–3 fresh or dried cranberries on a cocktail pick and set aside. Cut a lime twist or wheel and chill the serving glass (coupe or martini) in the freezer for a few minutes if desired.

Cocktail

3

Add all liquid ingredients to a cocktail shaker: 2 oz vodka, 0.5 oz Jangsu Omijaju, 0.5 oz Dolin Blanc, 0.25 oz Kjolle Flowers, 1 oz cranberry juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz pink peppercorn simple syrup.

4

Fill the shaker with ice (about 6 cubes). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds until the shaker is very cold and the outside is frosted. This dilutes and chills the drink properly.

5

Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or martini glass using both the shaker strainer and a fine-mesh strainer to remove tiny ice shards and any peppercorn sediment.

6

Garnish: float a lime twist on the surface or hang it on the rim, and rest the cranberry skewer across the glass. Optionally, lightly clap the lime twist over the drink to express oils before garnishing.

7

Serve immediately. Sip and note the layered floral notes from the Kjolle and Omijaju balanced by the bright cranberry and lime, with a subtle pink-peppercorn warmth.
