Method

Preparation of Fruit Base

1

Wash and Prepare the Fruit

Rinse the fresh seasonal fruit under cold water. Remove any stems, pits, or seeds as necessary. Cut the fruit into smaller pieces to make blending easier.

2

Blend the Mixture

In a blender, combine the prepared fruit, granulated sugar, fresh lemon juice, and water. Blend until smooth and well combined.

3

Strain the Mixture (Optional)

If you prefer a smoother sorbet, strain the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl to remove any pulp or seeds.

4

Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour to chill.

Freezing the Sorbet

5

Prepare the Freezer Container

Choose a shallow, airtight container to help the sorbet freeze evenly. You can also use an ice cream maker if available.

6

Transfer the Mixture

Pour the chilled fruit mixture into the prepared container. If using an ice cream maker, follow the manufacturer's instructions for freezing.

7

Freeze the Sorbet

Place the container in the freezer and freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or until the sorbet is firm.

8

Fluff and Serve

Once frozen, use a fork to fluff the sorbet before serving. Scoop into bowls and garnish with mint leaves and lemon zest if desired.
