Mixing
Combine and chill
Fill a cocktail shaker with 1 cup of ice. Add 2 oz Stoli vanilla vodka and 3 oz pineapple juice to the shaker.
Shake
Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted.
Strain
Using a fine strainer or the shaker's built-in strainer, strain the chilled cocktail gently into the prepared martini/coupe glass over the layer of grenadine. Pour slowly and centrally so the pineapple-vodka mixture sits above the grenadine, letting the heavier grenadine stay at the bottom and create the 'upside down' gradient.
Finishing
Garnish the rim with a fresh pineapple wedge and drop a maraschino cherry into the drink. Serve immediately.
