Method
Prepare Glass
Chill and fill
Choose a tall hurricane or highball glass. Fill the glass with ice cubes or crushed ice to chill while you assemble the drink.
Mix Cocktail
Combine spirits and mixers
In a cocktail shaker (or mixing glass) filled halfway with ice, pour 2 oz Southern Comfort, 3 oz orange juice, and 1 oz sour mix. Cap and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.
Strain and top
Discard the ice from the chilled serving glass and fill it fresh about three-quarters full with ice. Strain the shaken mixture into the glass. Top with 2 oz lemon-lime soda, pouring gently to preserve some effervescence.
Finish
Garnish with an orange wheel and a maraschino cherry on a pick. Squeeze a fresh lime wedge over the top if desired and drop it in. Serve with a straw.
