Chill glass

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill.

Combine ingredients

Add 2 oz Absolut vodka, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and 0.5 oz orange liqueur into a cocktail shaker. Add enough ice to fill the shaker about two-thirds full (about 1 cup).

Shake

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is very cold and well-chilled.

Prepare glass

Remove the chilled glass from the freezer and discard any ice or water. Optionally, run a lime wedge around the rim for extra aroma.

Strain and serve

Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or martini glass using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer to remove small ice shards and pulp.

Garnish

Express the oils of a lime twist over the drink or float a lime wheel on the surface, then serve immediately.
