In a large brew kettle, heat 5 cups of water to about 160°F (71°C). Add the Pale Ale malt, flaked oats, and caramel malt. Stir well and maintain the temperature at around 150°F (65°C) for 60 minutes.

Mashing

After mashing, drain the liquid (wort) from the grains into a separate pot. Rinse the grains with additional hot water to extract as much sugar as possible.

Lautering

Bring the wort to a boil. Once boiling, add the Chinook hops and boil for 60 minutes. Add the Citra hops and Mosaic hops in the last 15 minutes of the boil.

Boiling

After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches about 70°F (21°C).

Cooling

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermenter. Add the yeast and seal with an airlock. Let it ferment for about 1 to 2 weeks at a stable temperature.

Fermentation

After fermentation is complete, dissolve the priming sugar in a small amount of water and add it to the beer. Bottle the beer in sterilized bottles and cap them. Let the bottles carbonate for another 1-2 weeks.

Once carbonated, chill the bottles and enjoy your homemade Hazy Pale Ale!
