Method

Preparation

1

Chill & prepare glass

Chill a tall Collins or fountain-style glass by filling it with ice water for a few minutes, then discard the water and add fresh ice cubes until the glass is about 3/4 full.

2

Measure out all sodas and mixers so assembly is quick (see ingredient quantities). Keep all cans/bottles chilled until ready to pour.

Mixing the Foxon Park Fountain

3

Build the layers

In the prepared glass over fresh ice, pour in the pink lemonade and fresh lemon juice first (this creates a bright base). Next, add the grenadine and maraschino cherry syrup — pour slowly so the grenadine sinks slightly, creating a subtle gradient.

4

Add the sodas

Slowly add the sodas in this order to maintain a lively, fizzy profile: pour Coca-Cola (60 ml), then Diet Coke (60 ml), followed by Sprite (60 ml), then ginger ale (60 ml). Top with club soda (30 ml) to give a crisp lift. Pour gently down the side of the glass or over the back of a spoon to minimize foaming and help maintain visual layers.

5

Taste and adjust

Taste a small spoonful. If you want it sweeter and more Shirley-Temple-like, add an extra 5–10 ml grenadine or 5 ml maraschino syrup. If it tastes too sweet, add an extra splash (10–15 ml) of club soda or lemon juice to brighten and balance.

Garnish & serve

6

Gently place a maraschino cherry on a cocktail pick and rest it across the rim or drop it into the drink. Add the lemon wheel to the rim. Optionally, stir lightly once so flavors integrate but try to keep some gradient for presentation.

7

Serve immediately with a straw and a small long spoon so the drink can be re-stirred as the carbonation dissipates.
