Cocktail

House-made chocolate syrup (makes more than needed)

Method

House-made chocolate syrup

1

Combine dry ingredients

In a small heatproof bowl or saucepan, whisk together 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder and 0.5 cup granulated sugar until evenly combined.

2

Add hot water

Slowly pour 0.5 cup hot water (not boiling) into the cocoa-sugar mixture while whisking to create a smooth, lump-free paste.

3

Simmer briefly

Place the mixture over low heat for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sugar is fully dissolved and the syrup slightly thickens. Do not boil aggressively — gentle simmer is fine.

4

Finish and cool

Remove from heat and stir in 0.5 tsp vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Let cool to room temperature. Transfer to a sealed container and refrigerate. Use 0.5 oz for one martini; syrup keeps up to 2 weeks refrigerated.

Cocktail assembly

5

Prepare glass (optional chocolate rim/drizzle)

If you prefer a chocolate-drizzled glass, drizzle some of the house-made chocolate syrup around the inside of a chilled martini or coupe glass. You can also lightly dip the rim into syrup and then into chocolate shavings or cocoa powder.

6

Add ingredients to shaker

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in 2 oz Stoli Vanilla vodka, 1 oz Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur, 0.5 oz Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur, 0.5 oz house-made chocolate syrup, and 0.5 oz heavy cream (or half-and-half).

7

Shake

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly frothy from the cream.

8

Strain and serve

Double-strain (or fine-strain) the cocktail into the prepared chilled martini or coupe glass to remove ice shards and any cocoa bits.

9

Garnish

Finish with a light dusting of chocolate shavings or 1 tsp cocoa powder over the surface and optionally top with a chocolate curl or a single coffee bean for presentation.
