Fettuccine

Alfredo Sauce

Method

Fettuccine

1

Cook the Fettuccine

In a large pot, bring 4 quarts of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta and set aside.

Alfredo Sauce

2

Make the Alfredo Sauce

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup of butter. Once melted, add 4 minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Slowly pour in 2 cups of heavy cream, stirring continuously. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes. Gradually stir in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with 1 teaspoon of black pepper and mix well. Remove from heat.

Garlic Bread

3

Prepare the Garlic Bread

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise. In a small bowl, mix 4 tablespoons of softened butter, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley together. Spread the mixture evenly on each half of the bread. Place the halves on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden and crispy.

Assembling the Dish

4

Combine and Serve

In a large serving bowl, toss the cooked fettuccine with the Alfredo sauce until well coated. If desired, add your choice of toppings such as sautéed mushrooms, grilled chicken, sausage links, or meatballs. Serve immediately with two slices of garlic bread on the side.
