Bread Preparation

1

Slice the Bread

Using a sharp knife, slice the French baguette into six equal pieces, each about 1/2 inch thick.

2

Toast the Bread

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the sliced bread on a baking sheet and brush each slice with olive oil on both sides. Toast in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

Prepare the Topping

3

Chop Vegetables

Dice the tomatoes and cucumber into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

4

Mix Ingredients

Add the Italian dressing, salt, black pepper, and chopped fresh basil to the bowl with the tomatoes and cucumbers. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

5

Add Cheese

Grate or crumble the Romano cheese and mix it into the vegetable mixture, reserving a small amount for garnishing the crostini.

Assemble the Crostini

6

Top the Bread

Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato and cucumber mixture generously onto each slice.

7

Garnish

Sprinkle the reserved Romano cheese on top of each crostini for added flavor and presentation.
