Method

Pasta Preparation

1

Boil the Cannelloni

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cannelloni tubes and cook for 8-10 minutes until slightly softened. Drain and set aside to cool.

Filling Preparation

2

Mix the Filling

In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, egg, fresh basil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and sausage (if using). Mix until well combined.

Stuffing the Cannelloni

3

Stuff the Tubes

Using a piping bag or a small spoon, carefully fill each cannelloni tube with the cheese mixture. Place the stuffed cannelloni in a baking dish.

Sauce Preparation

4

Prepare the Sauce

In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add marinara sauce, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5

Add Romano Cheese

Stir in the grated Romano cheese until melted and well combined.

Assembling and Baking

6

Assemble the Dish

Pour half of the sauce over the stuffed cannelloni in the baking dish. Pour the remaining sauce on top and sprinkle with extra Romano cheese.

7

Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.

Garlic Bread Preparation

8

Prepare Garlic Bread

In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, and parsley. Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on both halves.

9

Bake Garlic Bread

Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
