Method
Preparation and Baking
Prepare the Dough
In a bowl, mix warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center, add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
Shape the Pizzetta
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 6-inch circle. Place on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
Add Toppings
Spread tomato sauce evenly on each pizzetta. Top with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, and sprinkle with oregano.
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and serve hot.
