Method
Classic Margarita Base
Make single-serving base
For one serving, combine 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 2/3 oz triple sec, and 1/3 oz simple syrup in a shaker. Add 1 cup of ice, shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled, then strain into a rocks or coupe glass rimmed with salt over fresh ice.
Batch for multiple servings
To make a 3-serving pitcher (as scaled in ingredients above), combine 6 oz blanco tequila, 3 oz fresh lime juice, 2 oz triple sec, and 1 oz simple syrup in a container. Add large ice if you plan to serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready. When serving, pour into salt-rimmed glasses over fresh ice.
Strawberry Variation (single-serving)
If using fresh strawberries: hulll and roughly chop 4 oz berries. Muddle the strawberries in the shaker (or blitz in a blender) until smooth. If using purée, add 1 oz purée directly. Add the single-serving classic base ingredients (2 oz tequila, 1 oz lime, 2/3 oz triple sec, 1/3 oz simple syrup), add 1 cup ice, shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds. Fine-strain into a salt-rimmed glass over fresh ice to remove seeds and pulp. Garnish with a strawberry slice and a lime wedge.
Passion Fruit Variation (single-serving)
Add 1.5 oz passion fruit purée or juice to the shaker with the single-serving classic base ingredients (2 oz tequila, 1 oz lime, 2/3 oz triple sec, 1/3 oz simple syrup). Add 1 cup ice and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds. Double strain into a salt-rimmed glass over fresh ice. Spoon 1/2 tablespoon passion fruit seeds on top as garnish (optional) and add a lime wedge.
Garnish & Rim
Serve immediately while cold. Offer the three variations as separate prepared drinks or prepare the base in batch and add the fruit purées to each glass individually to preserve freshness.
