Guava Mojito Base

Garnish & Finish

Method

Guava Mojito Base

1

Muddle mint and lime

In a sturdy pitcher or mixing bowl, place the fresh mint leaves and pour in the fresh lime juice and simple syrup. Using a wooden muddler or the back of a sturdy spoon, gently muddle the mint 8–10 times — press to release the oils but avoid shredding the leaves into tiny pieces.

2

Combine rum and guava

Add the light rum and guava nectar to the muddled mint and lime mixture. Stir vigorously for about 15 seconds to blend flavors and slightly chill the mix.

3

Chill briefly

Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes if time allows, to let the flavors marry and keep the final drink bright and refreshing.

Assemble & Serve

4

Prepare glasses

Fill four highball or Collins glasses about three-quarters full with crushed ice.

5

Divide base and top with soda

Stir the chilled guava-mint-rum base once, then evenly divide it among the four prepared glasses. Top each glass with about 1/2 cup club soda (adjust to taste) to add effervescence and lighten sweetness.

6

Garnish and finish

Gently slap a mint sprig between your palms to release aroma and place one on each glass. Float a lime wheel and an optional guava slice on top. If using bitters, add one dash per glass and gently stir once to incorporate.

7

Serve

Serve immediately with a straw and a cocktail stirrer. Encourage guests to stir occasionally so the mint and guava remain evenly distributed.
