Garnishes (per serving)
Method
Prepare glass & garnishes
Rim the glass
Pour the coarse salt or celery salt onto a small plate. Rub a lemon wedge around the rim of each serving glass, then dip the rim into the salt to coat evenly. Set glasses in the refrigerator to chill while you prepare the mix.
Make Bloody Mary mix
In a medium pitcher, combine the tomato juice, prepared horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, fresh lemon juice, fresh lime juice, hot sauce, celery salt, freshly ground black pepper, smoked paprika (if using), and a pinch of kosher salt.
Whisk the mixture vigorously until the horseradish is evenly distributed and the seasonings are fully incorporated. Taste and adjust: add more hot sauce for heat, more Worcestershire for umami, or a touch more lemon for brightness.
Optional — chill the mix for 15–30 minutes to let flavors meld, or proceed immediately to build drinks if short on time.
Assemble each Bloody Mary (makes about 4 servings)
Pour 2 oz (about 1/4 cup) of vodka into each glass.
Top each with approximately 3/4 cup of the Bloody Mary mix (to yield a total drink volume of roughly 10–12 oz). Stir gently once to combine vodka and mix.
Garnish each drink with a celery stalk, a lemon wedge on the rim, and 3–4 olives (skewered). Add pickled shrimp if desired. Serve immediately.
