Place the Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours prior to serving. Ideal serving temperature for a nitro milk stout is 38–45°F (3–7°C). Proper chilling preserves the creamy texture and reduces excess foaming.

Chill

Select a clean, room-temperature pint glass (a tulip or nitro-specific glass is preferred). Rinse the glass briefly with cold water and gently shake out excess — this helps reduce initial head but is optional. Do not use a soapy or oily glass, which will kill head retention and alter the mouthfeel.

Glass preparation

Hold the chilled can or bottle upright and open it carefully. Angle the glass at approximately 45° and begin pouring gently down the side of the glass, aiming for a slow, steady stream. Fill to about three-quarters (approximately 9 fl oz) of the glass. For kegs with a nitro tap, pull the tap fully and pour in one smooth motion.

Pouring - first stage

Set the glass down and allow the beer to settle for 30–60 seconds. Nitro beers typically produce a cascading surge as the nitrogen bubbles form a dense, creamy head — do not agitate or swirl the glass.

Allow the surge

When the surge has mostly settled, top the beer up to the rim with the remainder of the beer, pouring gently to create a 1/2–1 inch dense, tan head. Present immediately. The finished beer should have a silky, espresso-like body, chocolate and roasted malt aromas, and a smooth, creamy mouthfeel.

Top off and present

Keep any unconsumed opened container refrigerated and consume within 24–48 hours for best quality. If using a nitro-dispensed draft, ensure the nitrogen regulator and stout faucet are cleaned regularly to maintain proper pour and sanitation.
